A refined safari retreat, reimagined for modern explorers.
Set along the edge of a mostly dry riverbed in the Kruger National Park, Fitzpatrick’s at Jock is an intimate, standalone safari villa designed for a truly personal bush experience. With just three guest suites – each complete with private decks and swimming pools – and two external sleeping pods, the villa offers guests the feeling of having their own private piece of wilderness.
Our studio was tasked with the interior design refurbishment of Fitzpatrick’s, along with upgrades to the communal outdoor spaces, including the main pool deck and fire pit area. The design brief called for a balance between heritage and home, preserving the lodge’s pioneering spirit while introducing thoughtful layers of comfort and warmth.
Inside, the spaces are rich, tactile, and inviting, designed to cocoon guests during the cooler months. Outside, generous lounging areas, encourage guests to settle in and make the villa their own. Every moment, from sunrise coffee on the deck to lantern-lit dinners in the riverbed, has been considered to create a seamless connection between people and place.
The result is a warm and authentic lodge experience, one that feels both rooted in the wild and effortlessly welcoming, where every detail invites guests to slow down, unwind, and truly live in the space.
